1995 GMC Envoy not going into 4 wheel drive

tranny only stays in 2 wheel high
when selecter is turned to any position nothing happens. also light on selecter not working

Hi:
If the 4x4 unit will not engauge, you problem most likely lies with the actuator located on the transfer case. Check it for power when shifting from 2 to 4 wheel drive. If you're getting power, the actuator needs replaced.
