2001 GMC C3500 Duramax Idles rough and has excessive exhaus

My truck (Duramax Diesel) just recently started idling rough and has excessive exhaust smoke. Im thinking injectors but there are no trouble codes reported on my reader.

check for fuel contamination,and check the fuel filter for contamination.check the engine oil level for and overfill condition,from excessive fuel,which would mean an injector or injectors.see what the balance rates are on the injectors.
