Engine Cooling problem
1986 GMC C3500 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
HAS FLEX FAN WITH CLUTCH.AT FREEWAY SPEEDS FUNS HOTER THEN DRIVING SPEEDS.IS FLEX FAN OPENING UP.SHOULD I REPLACE WITH ORIGINAL I BELIEVE ITS A 6 OR 7 BLADE FAN BLADE?THANKS

at those speeds a fan should have nothing to do with the vehicle overheating, it will show up as a issue at low speeds and idling.

i would check the exhaust mixture for excessive lean and bad ignition timing first.

hows the coolant level, does it stay full or does it go down on a regular basis?
