When I bought my truck I realized that a few of the dummy lights were blown out, in particular the Check Engine light and the E Brake light. I had no further problems with the lights. Then I stored the truck for a year and a half and now the Check Engine light and the High Beam guage lights are blown out. My question is, is it normal for dash lights to go bad and need to be replaced or may I have an electrical problem?

If the bulbs are going out one at a time over a period of time I would think they are just getting old. An electrical problem should take the fuses out before the bulbs get blown. Have you checked all your fuses?
