clutch problems

i have a 98 chevy silverado with a manual trans and 115000 miles. my clutch pedal feels very soft. this happened instantly. i have a very hard time getting my vehicle into gear. i find it a liitle easier if i pump the clutch pedal frequently. what is my problem?

I think you have some air in your hydraulic lines if the clutch is hydraulic. Try replacing the oil or see if there are some leaks.
