2007 GMC C1500 transmission oil pump seal

does the transmission need to come out to replace a transmission oil pump seal? How big of a job is this?

Yes, the trans needs to come out because the torque converter slides through the seal. It isn't hard to replace the seal, but the labor will mostly be in removing the transmission.
