2004 GMC C1500 check engine light on

I lost my gas cap and drove for about 1 week without it
I replaced it and have used about 2 tanks of gasoline since but engine light does not go off.Is there some computer that must be reset?

Hi there,

Get a scan done and check that there are no active fault codes in the memory, have then cleared and this should fix your problem, but if the light returns there will be a fault that need attention.
