2002 GMC C1500 Ignition switch will not turn

2002 GMC C1500 104000 miles

Ignition switch will not turn. Truck is in park. Steering wheel is not locked. I can turn wheel freely. I can unseat the park/lock cable and move the shift lever. I cannot remove the cable because I can't move lock assembly to acc position. I can not remove cylinder because I can't turn switch. Any help will be greatly apprieciated.

you can remove the cylinder without turning it, it just requires a drill, you can drill out the retaining pin with the ignition in the off position then pull it out! try some graphite lock lube first and try using a different key.
