2002 GMC C1500 I can't get it started.

I ran my truck out of gas and after adding around 10 gallons of fuel it still won't start. I checked the fuses for the fuel pump and they are all in good shape. Any ideas?

running a tank out of gas is the #1 way to kill a old fuel pump, or a new one at that! when you turn the key to on does the pump turn on? if so disconnect a line, does it pump out gas if either of the ones above doesnt work, replace the pump.
