2001 GMC C1500 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my yukon would not start when I went to start it I would not do anything wouldn't even show any voltage so I thought it was my alternator I had that tested it was good then I noticed that the big bus fuse was burnt so I changed it then I tried to start it again and it burnt the new one what could be the problem

I'd make sure the battery has a full charge and the connections are good. Did you have the alternator tested off the vehicle? If so, the alternator itself could be ok and the wiring system to or from the alternator could be faulty? Can you be more specific about which fuse has a problem? If the dash lites won't even come on, I'd check feed to and from the ignition switch.

I had the alternaror checked and lights all come on all the gagues work but when I turn the key foward it burns the big 40 amp fuse under the hood that says ignition its a bus fuse but its the big one

Pull the starter relay and see if it still blows?

Yes, pull the starter relay, then see if the ign fuse still blows.

With the relay removed, use a jumper wire with 30 amp inline fuse between relay socket terminals 30 and 87, see if starter will crank without blowing 30 amp fuse. Make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.

There are many circuits that get voltage from that ignition fuse. It's like hunting a needle in a haystack.
