My truck has a service engine soon light on. The indicator just started last week. I had to have a new transmission put in (third transmission) and on the way home my truck lost power and had to be towed back to the shop. The gas tank indicator has not worked for two years.

Can that cause the service engine soon light to come on?

Hello !!

The gas tank indicator has not effect on the MIL (malfunction Indicator light)
retrieve the "codes" stored on your ECM and comeback with the results.
