1998 GMC C1500 rear end noise / drive train

I have a 1998 GMC 1500 extra cab 4x4 , has about 145000 miles , and I have a whining niose coming from the rear that doesnt seem to be getting any better? I did have to add some gear oil , which seemed to help a little?

Grab on to the input yoke and check if there is any play. Let me know what you find.
