I'm in great need of changing my fuel pump but mechanic shops are pricing the completion of this service way more than I can afford right now. How difficult is it to change the fuel pump? Is this something I can do myself? Where is the fuel pump located on my truck?

Hello,

The fuel pump is located in the Gas Tank.

To change it out you will have to drop the gas tank. And hopefully the tank is pretty much empty.

It can be a difficult task if tank is half full or more.

You could most likely do it yourself, you will need a floor jack and a piece of at least 5/8" think plywood that is about 16" x 16" so that the weight of the tank is spread over that area instead of centered on the head of the jack.
