1998 GMC C1500 distributor shaft end play

Replaced intake manifold gaskets, unable to get the cam dwell angle to 00.00, checked dist and excessive end play 3/16 max drive gear frosted and well used. have a new gear what is the end paly tolerance.

I cannot find any specifications on the distributor end play, but if you get a new gear for it it should come with a spacer unless the housing is worn, it should be okay the end play should be approximately 0.15 to 0.20
