1997 GMC C1500 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i have a 97 GMC 1500 and nothing happens when i turn on the heat or defrost i turned it on one day and smoke came out and now nothing at all and my wipers will only work in the on position

have a pro check this as it can be a switch/relay/motor or resistor for the heat. the wiper may be a circuit board that has gone bad and not allowing anything to work.
