I have a 1997 GMC Suburban 131,000 miles. The Truck is in great shape. My air conditioning system blows cold in the morning, warm during the mid to late afternoon and then cold again at night. I have a small freon leak which we fixed. My compressor has been replaced and we evacuated the system and replaced the freon. Yet the problem still remains. Also, the rear air never gets cold either. And if I turn the rear air on, the front air gets warmer. PLEASE help. This is the third summer with this problem and I am desperate.

Thanks so much,

Dennis

When you replaced these parts, did you use a new reciever drier and orifice tube? Vacuum the system? And last check the cycling switch? If the compressor doesnt cycle correctly, the evap core can ice up, the clue is the fact it works well in the am.

I think that the receiver drier was replaced. That sounds familiar. If those were replaced, is there anything else that can cause this problem?

Dennis what you need to do is use a manifold gauge set, get the readings of both the high and low side when it works, and again when it doesnt, then post the results and we can figure it out.
