Engine Cooling problem
1995 GMC C1500 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

my water pump is leaking, im getting it fixed but my husband has to drive it to work for a couple of days. what should we do until we get this fixed

Monitor the coolant level in the overflow resevoir and the radiator. If ther coolant gets low it will run hot and/or overheat. Carry a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water in the truck at all times. Maybe 2 gallons would be safer than one. Never open up the radiator cap when the engine is hot as the expanded coolant will be under pressure and can burn you.
