1995 GMC C1500 Transmision shifting in and out of overdrive

I have a 95 gmc sierra that kicks in and out of overdrive at 65 to 70 miles per hour any ideas?? someone told me it could be a the thermostat?? i dont really see how thats possible but im going ot try that in the morning
