I have a 1994 5.7 liter GMC 1500. When I crank the truck it blows bluish white smoke for approximatley 2-3 minutes, then stops. It smokes again after you acclerate from intial crank and idle for about 1 minute the it will not smoke any longer until you come from an idle again. I was told that it could be my valves were clogged and needed to be cleaned. Also, the truck drives and performs fine has all the power it should.

it's probably valve seals. As long as the truck runs fine, you would know it if it were valves. there is a spray that you can get at ford or GM dealers, it's the same stuff and will clean any carbon in your compbustion chamber. it will smoke alot when you do this though.
