1994 GMC C1500 exhaust fell off and now truck won't stay ru

we were driving down the road and the muffler fell off and it starting running funny now it won't stay running and im not sure what to do.

You sure its not the catalytic converter-start by checking the oxygen sensor/s and fuel pressure
