I have an 1985 K5 Blazer with a 5.7 TBI motor from a 1990 Silverado. The fuel pump went out after sitting for 10 plus years. Replaced the fuel pump, fuel is making it all the way to the Throttle body, but not into it or through the injectors. If I pour gas into the Throttle body it will start and run long enough to burn the said gas. So I have spark, and I have fuel making it 90% of the way to the Throttle body. I am stumped.

Good evening,

Use a test light or voltmeter and check for voltage to the fuel injector connector. Each injector should have a 12 volt signal with the key on. The other wire goes to the ECM for grounding.

If you have power to the injector, you will need a noid light to verify the ECM is commanding the injector to fire.

I didn’t have a meter the day we were trying to start it. Should I look at the fuel pressure regulator as well? I heard people talking about rebuilding the throttle body. I will check the injectors and get a noid light. Thanks for the reply.

Let us make sure you have power to the injectors.

The fact it starts with fuel tells me the injectors may not be commanded on.
