Transmission gets stuck in gear

Transmission gets stuck in gears and doesn't come out of gear unless you turn the engine off, sometimes that doesn't work. Also, there is a noise that I haven't heard before. car struggles to drive up hills, also car loses power.

While there could be other things this is almost surely a failing clutch.

What happens is when you press the clutch, and the pressure plate does not fully disengage the clutch then it is hard to shift, and you will lose power because the clutch is slipping.
