The car would shut off while running or if I drove and turned off it wouldn't restart for almost an hour. Changed crankshaft position sensor and it helped high idle and my brakes weren't super stiff anymore they work normal again but still same problem no codes. I did some doctor Googling, and everything pointed toward the issue with distributor. So, I ordered a new one and now the car won't start. It has spark and I can hear the fuel pump pressure. The dash lights up but all lights go out except the oil light so I changed oil and filter light stays on but will disappear while trying to start car. No check engine light either. I'm lost very frustrated not much money and I'm no mechanic but learning as I go. The car listed above is a convertible. Help me please

So, did you change the distributor and now it won't start? If so, you could have got the timing off, if not let's try to spray some starting fluid into the intake to see if you can get it to fire up. This guide could help as well plus check out the diagrams below to see if you did the installation correctly.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

I'm beginning to think I might have not done the install correctly. I tried putting the new one in the same way the old one came out.

Yeah, I'm pulling it out and hoping it's still functional. I have no experience at this.

Okay, I can walk you trough it, can you upload an image of the bottom of the distributor please? I need to see if it is a gear or slot.
