4WD LIGHT ON DASH ON
SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE (SAME RESULT)
NO GRINDING OR OTHER NOISES THAN NORMAL 2WD

so does 2wd work fine and only 4wd doesn't

YES ONLY 2WD WORKS (REAR WHEELS)
ONLY REAR WHEELS WORK WHEN IN 4L & 4H
U-JOINTS & DRIVELINE TO FRONT DIF.. ARE ATTACHED AND IN GOOD SHAPE ALSO
4WD WORKED FINE BEFORE I HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED .... I DON'T THINK THAT WOULD HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT THOUGH...
ARE THERE VACUUM LINES CONNECTED TO THIS PROBLEM ? PLEASE ADVISE

know for starters pull the shift lever put and make sure it isn't brocken if it is then we will have to go into the transfer case further let me know what you find
