1992 Geo Tracker Brake light

My brake light on the dash, stays on all the time. I have checked the emergency brake switch and it is good, as well, if I press the brake pedal down when I start the car, the light stays off until I release the brake pedal. It has no effect on the braking system, just that I do not know hopw to make the light go off.
