Check engine light is on due to the odometer reading. Service maniual says the reset switch is either behind the left front speaker or inside an access panel under the steering wheel. I've had both open and practically climbed inside them searching for anything that even slightly looks like a switch, with no luck. What am I missing here?

On the 1990 Geo Tracker, you need to pull off the 4 x 6 inch panel that is directly under the steering wheel. Then place your pointer finger on the bottom-middle of the hole that the panel was covering and move it forward all the way, then curl your finger and you should feel the toggle switch, just slide it sideways and the check engine light will go off.
