check engine light is on...the code says it is the evap control.My Ac does not work.Is the evap control part of my AC?if so...is it costly to repair?

Make sure the gas cap is on tight and sealing properly.

When you turn the AC on listen to make sure the clutch is engaging, it may have a leak and needs recharging/seals replaced.
