1999 Geo Prizm wont start fule in #1 cly blowing out

1999 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i check the timing brought #1` up on compression put top timing gear in time bottom crank pulley timing marks was off like the mark was two teeth off the 0 mark

This engine uses a timing chain, not a belt. So it is doubtfull the chain is off two teeth.

Remove the plugs, rotate the engine by hand, use a long wire like a straight coat hanger down the #1 tube, as engine approaches the lower timimg mark, wire sould stop moving up as you approach the lower timing mark.

If it is off, you will have to remove chain cover and inspect timing chain.
