1997 Geo Prizm Turn key nothing happens!

Have random problems with my car. Once a week when I go in and turn the key nothing happens. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 turns and it finally starts.

The battery is only a year old.

What could it be?

No crank at all/nothing/nada when key is engage to starting position

Could be the starter, starter relay, park and neutral switch/transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

When I turn the key nothing happens at all.

Usually I have to take key out and try again. Which will usually help. After a few times.

Battery is fine and so are the connections.

Do you know what the cost would be on those items?

Thanks for the help.

Also if I don't fix it. Will it get worse or just continue doing what it does now.

Sounds like the problem is coming from the ignition switch for it to do that-sooner or later its gonna finally quit-get it checked out-dunnno the cost it varies with location.
