1994 Geo Prizm No reverse in 94 geo prizm

I got my 94 geo prizm stuck in the snow. So to get unstuck I tried to rock it. By doing this i put the transmission in drive back to reverse very quickly back and forth. I noticed i have no reverse gear, but all my forward gears work fine. Neatral is like drive and when i engage the gear shift into reverse it kinda lunges forward then back like it wants to work. I was wondering if there is a fix to this, maybe the linkage jumped, or a valve in the tranny is stuck not allowing the reverse gear to engage.

Check the cable connection to the transmission, a bolt may be loose or the linkage may be bent. Look for any damage to the tranny like the govenor.
