Raise front end, put on stands, if brake caliper has siezed, wheel will not turn, otherwise:

Toyota's use a seperate lubricant supply for the trans. And the differential (where axle goes into trans).

Raise car, put on stands. Inspect the axle seals, if leaking or signs of leaking, there is a good chance the differential is out of fluid and siezing.

There should be two drain plugs, one for trans and one for differential. The differential plug is to the rear of trans plug.

You will most likely have to get trans. Removed and repaired. I am not sure if just the differential can be fixed, most likely you will have to get entire trans rebuild, or get a used trans from junk yard.
