I pressure washed my buddies engine and now the engine starts rite up but when you take off it is holding back. If you let up on the gas when driving it it kinda takes off like it should but with pedel to the floor its holding back its not missing or poping. The distributor is dry inside.

Probably the easiest way to isolate the problem is to have the ECM scanned and compare all the sensor data to factory specs.

Powerwashing can dislodge vacumm lines, get water inside sensor electrical connections etc.

Any cleaning should be done when engine is COLD.
