My "drive to work" car is a 1993 Geo Prizm. Had it a few years, and recently had a problem. Battery Indicator light came on. Found out the alternator had died. Friend of mine is a part-time mechanic, so he replaced it for me.

Problem is, the battery indicator light will intermittently come on still. Had the battery checked, and it was "bad" so got a new battery. Problem still happening.

Sometimes it'll just flash on for a second or two...sometimes it'll come on for 10 minutes or more...but then go off again.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I Would be checking the alternator brushes & the voltage regulator as both these can cause this problem. Also check all cables and battery terminals clean & tight.
