I am having trouble getting the drum off of the driver side rear wheel any sugjestions or something I am missing?

Remove the rubber stopper behind the backing plate and use screwdriver to loosen the adjusting screw.
There should also be two threaded screws in the drum to thread bolts in to help push drum out.
