Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1990 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i just put in a new axles and think thay gave me the wrong type or something it started making a grind/shatterin noise . i tryed to take it back out but it is stuck is there an easer way to take is out .

There is a special tool to take these type of axles out, it is a slide hammer with a large "C" shaped fixture, you may be able to rent one, not sure though.

When you installed, you may have messed up the "C" clip that holds the axle in the transmission (bent it).

You can pry the axle out with a large screwdriver, prying on the tripod joint against the differential housing.

The differential on this car uses a seperate lubricant supply, so be sure to fill up the differential with lubricant (Dextron III).
