1990 Geo Prizm car smokes on start up

1990 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car will smoke on start up every once in a while.But does not use a drop of oil.Has 110,000 miles on it and runs great.I think it is the valve seals.How can I do this?Do I need to pull the head?

No you do not have to remove head, but you need compressed air and a special tool set to change seals.

The valve springs are recessed in head, kit includes fixture that mounts on three valve cover studs and valve spring compressor.

It is a Kent-Moore tool, and is hard to find, try ebay.

If you cannot find one, then you will have to remove head.
