The check engine light came on for the first time ever. The OBDII scanner code was P1410 (Fuel Tank Pressure control solenoid). The car has been well maintained since new. Having purchased a new car the GEO has sat in the garage for about 6 months. After driving around 2 miles on the way to fuel it up the check engine light came on. I had a friend use his code scanner to reset the light, but it came back on soon after. Anyone else have this problem before? Is the FTP control solenoid located outside the fuel tank or inside the fuel tank? What must be done to replace? The chevy dealership said the part cost just over $25 and would take 4 days to order because they do not stock it. NAPA, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, nor O'Reilly's Auto Parts carry this part. Any help would be appreciated.

According to my Haynes manual You must first remove the fuel tank disconnect the electrical connector from the FTP sensor remove the 2 mounting screws and then remove the sensor from the fuel tank. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
