I'm missing the egr valve " " I had a mechanic plug the computer in and cost me $70 for him to tell me I'm missing egr valve ;well egr valve cost about $150 new ........ what I need to know... does this year geo need an egr valve and is it installed on the intake manifold

It has an EGR valve and a vacuum switching solenoid-check on top left side of engine on the intake manifold
