1989 Geo Metro Front Wheel Drive Manual 135000 miles

I have an 89 geo metro we replaced the head gasket and it ran great then the 02 wire fell on to the belt I replaced the wire then the check engine light didnt go off what might be the way I can clear the codes

Disconnect the battery for a few secs or find the cancel switch behind steering column lower trim panel and switch to the opposite position.
