Gearbox oil and outside temp reading

Hi can you tell me what gearbox oil is required for a 2000 plate 1.2, 5 speed agila, and also my outside temp reading on the dash reads -40 in winter and nothing at all in summer, could you tell me where the sensor is located so I could replace it? Many thanks in advance.
