I have a noisy input shaft bearing, (clutch pedal down quiet, pedal up noisy ) Once I have removed the gearbox and the input shaft cover tube, is there any way I could remove the shaft bearing without dismantling more of the gearbox? I know this is possible on some older inline gearboxes. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, my car's engine is a 1.4 petrol 4 cylinder, and the code is BUD. The gearbox itself is code O2T.

Hey BRABHAM52,

I do not have the repair instructions for this operation.

However, if you watch at around the 2 minute mark in the video in the link below you will see the bearings are pressed in from the inside of the gearbox casing.

As far as i can see this video covers the operation you will need to follow pretty well.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Joe
