My vehicle listed above has this issue where it downshifts/brakes and slows down then goes back to normal shifting, usually does it in the mornings. Some mechanics tell me it's the control unit, the other tells me he needs to fuel tank and pipes, air cleaner and more to trace issue.

I have seen a bad front speed sensor cause this problem, lets run the codes to see if any are stored, this guide can help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Here is the location for the front sensor in case a code is present for it. Also, check the transmission fluid level as well. Can I ask if the transmission has been serviced? Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

It's the RAV4 second generation, with 1AZ-FE, yes, I have had the fluid changed, codes were reset, drove well for a week for about 220km and now the issue is back.
