Hello, I drive 2007 Vauxhall (Opel) Astra 1.7cdti. Once I am above 10mph I cannot engage second nor first gear, once I am below 10 mph I can engage second but not first, once I am below 5 mph I can engage first. This is really annoying going up the hill, if second does not pull I have to stop engage first and drive off again.

This vehicle is not offered in the US, so I do not have specific technical information. However, I have a couple questions. When sitting still, engine running, does the transmissions shift easily from neutral to all gears? Have you confirmed that the hydraulic fluid for the clutch is full?

Hello, while sitting still with engine running yes I can shift all the gears easily, once I start driving I can up-shift all the gears as well. I cannot downshift from third to second if above ten mph. I have not checked hydraulic fluid.
