As soon as I turn the car on the indicator says reverse. It stays in reverse even when I'm shifting through the gears. My reverse lights stays on and I constantly hear beeping every time someone is behind me, even when I'm parked backed into a spot. I've tried to find a faulty sensor on the transmission but have no clue what to look for. There is no TCM of course so I don't know if it's a loose wire or internal issue.

Yep, you are correct, the gear range sensor (manual shift shaft sensor) needs to be replaced, it is not like the good old days where it is on the side of the transmission, instead it is inside the transmission, you will need to remove the fluid pan. Here is how the job is done. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you. I never would have expected this. I'm going to look up this part. I do not like that I will have to change this out myself but them shops are taxing. I'm a disabled veteran but I was a mechanic though.

Oh yes, it is not like the days where the gear range sensor (neutral safety switch) was not side the car. Let me know if you need more help, thank you for your service :)
