Hi. I am looking at buying the car model listed above, but the owner says it is starting to clunk in fifth gear. She was told it could be the clutch plate slipping. Is this right or is it something else? And what would it cost to have it fixed please?

If it is only in fifth gear I would say no without hearing the noise it is hard to say where the noise is coming from and say what it would cost to fix. It could be a mount or something more serous.
