The truck has been sitting for a good while. I finally went to move it and it wouldn't start. Went and just for a new battery and it started right up. But my gauges are bouncing, the air bag light flashes. But my battery won't stay charged. I'm assuming it's my alternator. Does that have something to do with it?

Yep, it sure can, it sounds like the alternator has a diode that is out on it is causing AC voltage to enter the electrical system, but to be sure here is a guide you can use to confirm the issue:"
