Gas tank vacuum vent line

Can you get pictures of the hoses that are effected? Normally since these are just vent lines we can "patch" them together by cutting out the effected areas and then splice it back together with fuel grade rubber hose. Basically we just need to seal the system so that it doesn't leak and we can do that with hose clamps and line connecting the areas that are cut out.

i'll get a pic for you. it's a flexible but hard kind of corrugated rubber or some other flex material. i have tried to search for this kind of hose but have been unable to find it anywhere and Toyota as a dealer does not sell it as a commodity item. i see your point we have thought of that the idea of a hose over the hose, ie cut the original hose then slip a cover hose over it. it has to be a pretty tight fit and then since it is a vapor hose you can't really clamp it down hard. so how would we really seal it? maybe epoxy treatment on both ends?

You could do that but a hose clamp (screw type) will seal it just fine. It will not completely collapse the interior line.

Let's start with the pictures and go from there. However your suggestion is not a bad one. We just need to ensure the vapor is able to pass through and you are good to go.
