I think syrup was put in my gas tank can I find out if it true

you would need to remove the fuel tank and have the fuel tested to confirm. check the fuel filter as well.

gooo. it would be like a sludge that settles at the bottom of the tank

But how would I know it's syrup and not just gunk in the fuel tank if so how long can I run the car and what damages can it do

you would need to have it tested somewhere to be sure

I would not use it as it may contaminate the pump. injectors and lines requiring replacement of all fuel system components
