At the pump and pumping gas as usual and the lever locked up so wasn’t able to release so when I went to remove nozzle from the gas hole it dripped out. Would has kickback have to do with the car fuel evap system or simply a faulty nozzle? Never happened to me before just happened and immediately after removed nozzle it stopped.

This is what happened. Keep in mind my hand was no longer on the nozzle trigger yet it remained locked in place and kept pumping until we pulled it out, but it made a puddle mess on the ground. It began spewing once we tried removing it from the filler neck.

Thanks for the image! Yep, this is a bad gas pump handle. Nothing to do with the car. Whenever the gas fill handle sees gas other than the fuel input it should automatically shut off. I have seen this before and I worked at a gas station for 10 years. Please use 2CarPros anytime we are here to help.

Thank you so much! Will this cause any damage to the fuel tank if gas spews out like that?

Question, if you have a 2022 Forte and it recommends 87 but only 86 available is that okay?

Regarding the gas pump situation, if a pump is faulty and gas sprays out at you will it affect any of the parts like the evap system or filler valve?

Yep and no, it is okay to use 86, and no it will not hurt the car. I would tell the gas station they have a problem though so no one else goes through this, it is a safety hazard.

You had answered my question previously about the gas spewing out due to a faulty pump but my question is would a faulty nozzle at a gas pump that spews out affect the car in any way like the evap system or filler neck? My question is just a follow up but I remember you mentioned a new thread for any other questions
