The original gas pedal broke. I ordered a new one and I noticed immediately that there was a problem. The pedal would stick and the engine would surge. When driving without the pedal, it is fine. I am sure it is a pedal issue but has since this is the second pedal I have purchased and each time I get this happening...I am hoping there might be a solution. Has this happened to anyone else........any suggestions?

Maybe its not the pedal, something to do with the cable binding or the throttlebody?

IF THE OUTER SHROUD OF THE CABLE IS PLASTIC

SOMETIMES OVER TIME THE INNER STEEL/ BRAIDED/ TWISTED CABLE WILL "SAW/ OR CUT" INTO THE OUTER PLASTIC SHROUD, ESPECIALLY IN THE TURNS OR HARD TURNS OF THE CABLE. IN THE PAST, I REPLACED A WHOLE CABLE (BECAUSE OF THE OUTER SHROUD) WITH A BICYCLE DERAILLEUR CABLE. THIS FOR TWO REASONS, THE BIKE CABLE WAS EASILY ADAPTABLE, ITS OUTER SHROUD IS COILED STEEL AND NOT "PLASTIC" AND IT WAS THE ONLY THING WE COULD FIND "AFTER HOURS"

My Mercedes Benz mechanic installed the second new pedal - lubed up the linkage,.but it happened again. So I took off the pedal and have been driving without the issue. It must be how the pedal is fitting since there is no problem without. I thought it might be a faulty pedal, but after buying two and having the same problem I am left 'scratching my head' here. Thanks for your comments and advice, much appreciated.
